An NGO Working With And For Children In Delhi & Beyond

How YOU Can Get Involved:

Wonder what you can do?
As a citizen:

First of all: realize that in all probability, there are children in your immediate surroundings suffering from disadvantageous policies and discrimination. Did you ever think about the fates of kids selling books at traffic lights, begging close to temples or tourist attractions, or hanging out at railway stations? Try to reach out to them. Encounter them with respect. Give them a sense of dignity. Not by giving money, which usually does more to relieve the donor’s conscience than a street kid’s situation. Try finding out something about them instead. Show some interest, invest a little bit of your time into a conversation, and you might become the vital link between a child and a helping NGO or government facility. Sensitize people around you – neighbors, friends and family, and everyone else who might have an influence on the life of street kids.

If you would like to do more and become part of a systemized effort, you can always volunteer at CHETNA! There are numerous fields in which you can help us, from direct interface programs to policy making. By spreading the word afterwards, you can be a multiplicator for the cause. See How can you be volunteer with CHETNA

Lack the time, but want to show your support anyhow? Even though personal involvement is the most important aspect of child rights work, the need of funds cannot be neglected altogether. Donations to CHETNA are exempt under section 80 G of the Income Tax Act.

You can get to know who you’re giving your money to by dropping by and leaving some cash contact or  donate online.

As an NGO or an individual activist:
